We Are A Nation Of Laws - Actually Not So Much

In listening to all of the immigration talk for the last few months, I keep hearing the words, "Illegal is illegal, we are a nation of laws..."

Actually, we are a nation who has stood up to unjust laws and protested them. One of my favorite protesters is Stephen Hopkins who signed the Declaration of Independence. He said, "May King George know that even though my hands may tremble, my heart does not..." All of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were law breakers because they knew that what they were standing up for was right. Their homes were ransacked, they were arrested and even killed because they stood up against unjust laws.

Women began their fight to get the right to vote. They were against unjust laws that say they should not vote. They marched in 1912, they fought for their rights, they were told that we are a nation of laws and that we would not put up with people breaking the laws. However, these women continued to do things that were considered illegal, like trying to vote, and in 1920 the law was changed.

One of my favorite lawbreakers is Rosa Parks. She broke the law because it was unjust and refused to give up her seat in the bus. She was certain that even if it was the law, the law was unjust and therefore should be protested.

Our history is full of lawbreakers who we now honor as heroes because they made changes to unjust, unfair, and discriminatory laws!

When there are unjust laws, there will always be American citizens that will stand up and go against the law because it is the right thing to do. Our immigration laws are unjust. If the same immigration laws had been in place 100 years ago that are in place today, most of us would not be living here in the United States today.

Immigration laws say that the children that were brought here by their parents when they were but babies, should be deported. That is wrong. It doesn't take a Rhode Scholar to know that this is wrong and it will never ever be right. It is not a Republican issue, it is not a Democratic issue, it is right to allow these kids to stay in the United States and the Dream Act is a beautiful way to help these kids have a bright future here in the United States. Shame on those who did not vote for the passage of this bill. Power without compassion is tyranny.

There is no cap on the amount of people that can sponsor their spouse for immigration. If a person's spouse is from another country, they can petition to have their sweetheart come to the United States and get a Green Card. Now there is some proof required, but all in all is is basically cut and dried. You have a spouse, you can get a green card. ... Unless you are of the same sex as that spouse. The United States does not recognize same sex relationships. Apparently, they have some exaggerated sense of what they think is right and wrong, yet homosexuality is the only "sin" that is discriminated against in immigration law. No where does it say that liars cannot immigrate to the United States. No where does it say that those who take the Lord's name in vain cannot immigrate. Shame on the United States for having such hypocrisy in it's immigration law.

For anyone to say that homosexuality is a sin, well they have not done their own research in the Bible and choose to believe centuries of misguided lies by the religious community.

As American citizens, it is our job to stand up to unjust laws. Our immigration laws are unjust, un-American, and just plain discriminatory. We need the Uniting American Families Act passed so that everyone can stay with their families. We need the Uniting American Families Act passed, because it is the right thing to do. We need the Uniting American Families Act passed because we are a nation that needs to go back to the ideas that founded this nation that all are created equal. Let us pursue our right to happiness by being with our loved ones. Pass the Uniting American Families Act.

Does Our Country Love Us, Too?

With Don't Ask Don't Tell being repealed, the question comes up about the Gay/Lesbian Soldiers who are in love with someone who is not a US citizen: When will they be able to bring home their spouses?

We have been fighting for years to get the Uniting American Families Act to even be mentioned on the Congress floor. For over ten years, they have been able to bury it in committee. Will they still be able to ignore our Men and Women in uniform? Those who are willing to put their lives on the line for their country are still not able to bring home to that country the love of their lives.

This is certain to become an issue as the reality of the repeal of DADT becomes a reality in the Armed Forces. These people love their country. These people want to serve their country, however, their country still wants to hold to ancient prejudices of society.

We must fight for the right of all homosexual to be able to have the freedoms that the heterosexual people take for granted. We are not asking for special treatment, only equal treatment.

I am in love with a woman from the Netherlands. There are no immigration avenues that are open to us at this time; and believe me we have done the research. We either need for the Uniting American Families Act to pass or we need to have homosexual marriages recognized by the Federal government.






So tonight, when you pray for our soldiers that love our country, realize that some of them are gay and they love our country. Ask yourself is it too much to ask that our country love them too?

Treating the Symptoms Instead of Finding the Cause

In working in the world of health care, we have a saying, “People don’t usually die from cancer, they die from the complications of cancer.” People’s immune systems are so depleted from cancer and the treatments of cancer, which they are unable to fight off any sort of illness that comes along like pneumonia.

The United States of America has a huge cancer. It is our immigration laws. Here are a few of the symptoms that we are attempting to “treat” instead of changing the Immigration System that we currently have:

1. Undocumented immigrants coming over from Mexico looking for our American Jobs.

2. Racial profiling in States passing the Arizona like law

3. Drugs/Gangs out of control on the Mexican American Border

4. Immigration Fraud

5. Business hiring Undocumented Workers

6. People leaving the United States to live in exile with their loved one

7. People living in the United States illegally because they are unable to find an “in” with our immigration laws

8. Families being forced to live apart because of immigration laws

9. People who have lived in the United States for most of their lives being forced to leave the only country they remember to go to a country they do not know.

10. New states laws that are moving toward “no one being able to buy or sell without the mark in their hand or forehead”.

What is the United States doing to change all of these problems? The States being fed up with the Federal Governments inaction are beginning to try and treat these symptoms. Unfortunately, without the Federal Government intervention of changing our immigration system and laws, we are only trying put a small bandage on a gaping wound. We have to change the Federal Immigration Laws in order to treat the cause. Ninety-six percent of Americans do not know is what it takes to immigrate to our great Land. Therein lays the problem. Right now we are in a firestorm of new state laws aimed at getting rid of the undocumented by ways that are cruel, unjust and quite frankly scary.

Solutions to the above symptoms:

1. Develop a guest worker program that does not cost the worker any money. How in the world are the people struggling to come over to the United States for jobs able to pay the huge fees of the Immigration system? They cannot, therefore they must come in without going through the proper channels. It is a matter of life and death for them and their families.

2. Do not penalize business owners who need to hire these guest workers by fees or extra taxes.

3. Do something at the Mexican-American Border to control drug trafficking. It is believed by many that because of all the money it brings into the American economy, that the federal government is not doing a whole lot to try and stave the influx of drugs at the border. At the well known crossing sights, or the desolate areas where people are crossing over (drugs, human trafficking) let’s put up some sort of barrier.

4. Pass Federal law that will allow homosexual United States Citizens to sponsor their partner to get a green card the same as heterosexual couples.

5. Pass a Federal law legalizing same sex marriages.

6. Pass the Dream Act.

7. Send the Immigration folks through a training course of dealing with people who are not American citizens. I have seen the horrendous treatment that non Americans can go though at foreign embassies. I have seen the rudeness of those who work at airports herding the non-English speaking visitors like cattle. I was embarrassed for the country that I love by these ICE workers.


Let’s figure out a way to treat the Cancer that is the Immigration System in the United States instead of over reacting and trying to treat the symptoms that have developed. The Federal Immigration Laws are the Cancer; they are the cause of all of symptoms. Let’s fix this at the top level, and then work on the rest of the symptoms.

Why Passing the Uniting American Families Act Should be Important to Congress

The Uniting American Families Act would give Homosexual United States Citizens the right to sponsor their partners(for lack of a better legal word) for Green Card status. The heterosexual community has been enjoying this right since people have been falling in love with people from different countries. I believe that it is high time that the lesbian and gay community be afforded this simple right; the right to live with whom we love.

One argument is that passing the Uniting American Families Act would promote fraud. I read that people opposed to the UAFA feel that proving that a person is really in love with another person and wanting to spend the rest of their lives with that person is difficult without the bond of marriage. To that ludicrous and quite ignorant protest I answer: Allow us to get married then. There are ways, just as there are with heterosexual people, of proving a relationship. This really is a poor excuse for not passing the Uniting American Families Act.

Another argument is that allowing homosexual people to sponsor their partner is an affront and an attack on the family. US News and World Report reported way back in 2004 on the rise of the gay family. http://www.usnews.com/usnews/culture/articles/040524/24family.htm
Like heterosexual couples in a committed relationship, some want children and some don't want children. In no way is allowing people to have families an attack on the family.

I have heard that people do not think that homosexuals should be allowed to have children. Aside from the obvious grievous attack on the personal rights of human beings there are several studies saying that children of same sex couple do as well or better than their counterparts.

So the fact that people think that the United American Families Act is an attack on the family is also not accurate. All most of us want to do is to live in peace with our family without fear and hate.

Probably the most outspoken arguement from the opposition of the Uniting American Families Act is that God is against homosexuality. It seems that Congress has taken ahold of this and is using it for all bills that have to do with homosexuality. Sadly, a lot of the people making these statments have not picked up a Bible in years and are ignoring advice from all parents everywhere, "Learn to think for yourself and come to your own conclusions".
If God hates homosexuals, why is John 3:16 in the Bible? "For God so loved heterosexual people..." No, it says "For God so loved the world..."

If God hates homosexuals, why did Jesus heal the Centurion's beloved servant?

For those who still think that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of homosexuality...that is so not right. Read your Bible:

Ezekiel 16:49
49 " 'Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.

The verses used at a lot of heterosexual weddings to pledge their lives to each other forever are words that were spoken between two women. Ruth 1:16 & 17

God does not hate homosexuals. It is simply not Biblical for anyone (even the Pope) to say that God does not love homosexuals. Shame on the Church for straying so far away from the Word of God and allowing centuries of prejudice to influence their thinking and not do their own research.

Congress should pass the Uniting American Families Act on principle. Are we less of American Citizens because we are homosexual? Do we not have the right to be in love with whom we have fallen in love? Are we not entitled to the same rights as Americans because of sexual preference. While the government encourages businesses to not discriminate on the basis of color, sex, age, or sexual orientation, they are GUILTY of these very discriminatory acts.

I am an American and as an American I am guarenteed rights by our Constitution. I ask that the Uniting American Families Act be passed so that I and thousands like me can have the right to live in our country with the person we love, with the families we love. We need to be allowed this right as Americans.

PASS the UNITING AMERICAN FAMILIES ACT. It is the right thing to do, it is the Christian thing to do, it is the American thing to do.

MAIL ORDER BRIDES/Legal Human Trafficking

Did you know that you can purchase a wife online. You can go online, pick out a bride and have her sent on over. These people will help you with all of the immigration papers and charge you enormous fees, but as a male United States citizen, you can end up with a new bride who is willing to do whatever you say because you have bought her and have brought her and she can become an American citizen. This is legal in the United States. The marriages are a fraud, but no one really gets up in arms about it because it is between a man and a woman. Just look up "Mail Order Bride" on the internet on any search engine and see the hundreds of sites complete with pictures, countries and ages. I went to one of the sites and believe me it was obvious what they were peddling.


Someone please tell me how this practice became legal. Purchasing human beings to use them for sex, cleaning, cooking and companionship. Sounds like slavery.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, why are not organizations like NOM protesting Mail Order Brides? Why isn't this in being fought in Congress by good Christian groups? This is reprehensible.

Here I am, an American citizen. I have met the person whom I want to be with for the rest of my life. This person feels the same about me. She is from a foreign country. I have no legal avenue to have her immigrate to the United States of America. Why? Because we are both women. I am a productive member of society, I have been at my job for twenty years, I own my own house, I pay taxes and I am a voter. I have never bought a human being. But I cannot do anything to get the love of my life to be able to immigrate to the United States legally. Does this make sense?

So what Congress is saying is that it is OK to buy a bride as long as it is a heterosexual relationship even though it is equal to human trafficking. However, if a homosexual is truly in love with a foreigner, that is unacceptable.

Does anyone else see how horribly wrong this is. Two people who are actually in love cannot be together but a person buying another person can immigrate legally. This is so appalling.

We need to pass the Uniting American Families Act so that United States Citizens can be with the person with whom they have fallen in love regardless if they are of the same sex.

I do not believe that I am over reacting here. The buying and selling of human beings should be outlawed. These people have more rights, more freedoms than I do because I want to be with my partner who happens to be of the same sex. I am beside myself with frustration. How can people even think that it is fine and good to protest me? How do people think that they have the right to keep us apart? Why in the world? This is wrong.

PASS THE UNITING AMERICAN FAMILIES ACT. We deserve better treatment and a lot more respect for who we are and the honest love that we have.

What Other "Abominations" Should We Condemn?



First of all, please get this straight (no pun intended) I do not believe that God condemns a same sex monogamous relationship anywhere in the Bible.  Anytime it is mentioned in the Bible where A Man shall not sleep with a man...etc...the context is ALWAYS idol worship.

But let us go to the level of those who think that homosexuality is an abomination.  They don't want to allow same sex partners to be together because it is the sin of sins.  This is simply not Biblical.  The Bible teaches that all sins are on the same level.  If you do not believe that, here is a verse of the abominations that God does condemn:
 Proverbs 6: 16 - 19:
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among  brethren.

 
Jesus gets angry at sin.  While on Earth, the Bible records  times where Jesus was very angry. Each time it was with people who professed to be leaders of the Religious Community.   

Luke 16: 15, 16 :  "And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. And he said unto them, "Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God."

And my favorite is Revelation 21:8


 8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.


This verse puts everyone right where they should be, on the same level.  Why then do they want to say that Homosexuals do not deserve the same rights as heterosexuals?  Well, the only thing I can come up with is this:  It makes them feel better to put down someone they feel that God condemns and they are not "guilty" of this "sin".

All in all, when they brought the woman to Jesus taken in adultery what did Jesus say, "He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone..."  and after everyone had left and Jesus asked the woman where are where accusers has no one condemned you and she answers Him, "No one, Lord."  What does Jesus say?  He says, "Neither do I condemn thee...."

Let's stop condemning and start letting people just live their lives.  What you perceive as standing strong for you beliefs and values, we see as hate and are pushed further away from the love of God. 

Are you threatened by people who just want to live their lives in peace with their families?  We need the Uniting American Families Act passed and we need it to pass soon.  Our children are growing up with out their other parent.  Our lives are passing by without being able to gently hold the one whom we love.

Ninety-six percent of the USA People are Ignorant About Immigration

Ninety-six percent of the American people are sadly ignorant or misinformed about immigration and unfortunately that includes Congress.  If you ask the public what does one have to do to immigrate to the United States, they really do not know.  For those who actually do know, these people have been affected directly by the immigration system or are immigration lawyers.

I have been petitioning Congress on a daily basis through twitter and have gotten a few responses.  When I ask Congress to support the Uniting American Families Act, I have been told they don't support it because they are for traditional marriage.  The Uniting American Families Act has nothing to do with marriage.  It is about me being able to sponsor my same sex partner for immigration.  It is about putting families back together.  It is about giving homosexuals the right to live in their own country with the person they love.

I have seen that people already think that the homosexual community has equal rights and they feel that we are asking for special treatment.  I was flabbergasted that anyone could say that we have the same rights.  Heterosexual people can get married just about anywhere in the world and the Federal government will recognize that they are married.  I can get married in a state that allows same sex marriage and the Federal government will not recognize it at all.  As a matter of fact, I can go to the next state and my marriage does not exist.

I believe that before one starts making judgment calls on the Uniting American Families Act, they are in serious need of education.  I was told that before we pass any "amnesty" acts, we need to secure our borders.  The Uniting American Families Act is not an amnesty bill.  Secure our borders.  Heck, yes!  Build a wall if you want to.  I am an American citizen.  I love the United States of America.  I am only asking that the person with whom I fell in love be allowed to immigrate to the United States of America.  I am not asking for special favors.  I am not asking for special treatment.  I am only asking that we pass the Uniting American Families Act.

What good is it to keep us apart.  I was born in the United States of America.  I am just wanting to stay here, rear my children with my spouse.  I have been told that maybe I need to move to my spouse's country.  I have been at my job for 20 years.  I own a house.  Our boys do not speak the language of my spouses country.  I do not speak the language of my spouses country.  I am a productive member of society.  I have been told I can just leave...and do what?  Go on welfare in my spouses country?  Become a burden to their society?  I would have to learn the language and then find a new line of work as they do not have Respiratory Therapists in her country.

Pass the Uniting American Families Act.  Please end this grave injustice being done to American citizens and their partners.  It is wrong that we cannot live in the country of our choice with the person of our choice because we are of the same sex.  It is evil and it is a horrible and grave punishment to those who have done nothing wrong.

So before we listen to people making flippant comments.  Please remember that most of them are just regurgitating ignorance of a system they know very little... if anything...about.  We are Americans.  We don't want special treatment, however, equal treatment would be nice.

Please, let's get the Uniting American Families Act Passed!

What if you couldn't comfort someone....what if....

In the wake of the recent tragedy in Arizona, I have been reading a lot of comments posted to twitter offering prayers and concerns.  A lot of them go something like this:  "My wife and I would like to offer our sincere prayers..."  "Connie and I..."  "Ruth and I....".... 

What if you couldn't say that because you and your wife or husband were not allowed to be together?  What if you had to say something like, "I hope that you are ok.  I am sure that my wife who lives in Russia feels the same...."  What kind of life would that be?  What kind of family life would you have?   What if you didn't have a choice in the matter?  What if living with your spouse was deemed illegal by the powers that be?  Ludicrous you say?  It is happening now...in the freedom loving country where all are created equal...the United States of America.

Because people believe in traditional family values, they do not want to allow other people with different life styles to be happy.  I do not want them to change their family values.  I do not think that what I do is a threat to their way of life. 

People looked down on hippies...they were a pretty harmless group of tree huggers.  no reason to be afraid of them.  Homosexual folks are not trying to recruit.  Contrary to popular belief, that is not what we believe.  We pretty much just want to be.

I have been told that homosexuals are child molesters.  Actually, most child molesters are heterosexual.  I have been told that homosexuals are going to hell.  Well, that is not what the Bible says, "whoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life".  I have been told that homosexuals are sexually deviant.  Well, I am sure that there are some homosexual deviants, however there are more heterosexual deviants as per their own stats.  So come on people. 

You will not listen because you do not want to listen.  You do not listen because your mind is as closed as the Westboro Baptist Church Members.  You think that your traditions are under attack when I feel that my entire life is under attack. 

I am doing my best to understand how that not allowing a Mother to be with her child ... how is that TRADITIONAL Values??? How???  And how is allowing her to be with her child an attack on your family values?  I am willing to talk, debate or have some other form of friendly discussion on this so that I can try to understand this horrible injustice that you all think is good.

I am My Beloved's and My Beloved is Mine

My dear friends, Inger and Philippa have graciously allowed me to put their story on my blog.  This is just one story and there are thousands of us living separate, in exile, or illegally just so we can be with the one that we love, with our families.  This is a cruel injustice being done and it needs to be made right.  I hope that as you read their inspiring story in their own words, you will be moved to action.

Inger:  I support The Uniting American Families Act because I am the American half of a bi-national couple and have been trying to find a legal way to sponsor my partner for the past 2 and 1/2 years. She is educated, no criminal record, a hard worker, has good credit, 2 jobs and is a parent to our 10 year old daughter. HOW on earth does that adversely affect our society? It’s been months since I last saw my partner. I have cleaned out my savings, having to use it for travel and phone bills. This imposed separation is harmful physically, mentally, emotionally, fiscally and familialy. No one would be harmed by granting people equal (not special) rights to sponsor their partners in fact we would all become healthier and more productive members of society instead of legislative outcasts. Pushed to abandon the country we call home, when our partners are willing to give up their lives and homes to start new here. Please realize that these are REAL people, and they are being HARMED by this situation. I am being harmed by this situation. Please put yourself in our situation and think how it would feel that some stranger has the power to change your world for good or ill.





Philippa:  So I have made it safely back into the UK and firstly want to just say how grateful I am to the people here who are just amazing and are already taking care of me and thank you for all the support from everyone on our pages. I must admit I wasn't expecting all the facebook stuff that was going on whilst I was in the air.


I love my family so so much and just want the opportunity to live a quiet and peaceful life with them, if my words are a lil messy; I apologize but am still suffering good ole jetlag. Inger has to be the most amazing person I have ever met, she has the kindest heart, shame that that heart is breaking and for no good reason. If one of these almighty people in power could give her a valid reason as to why her female partner (i.e. me) who has no criminal record, who is well educated, who works, and who is wanting to move to America, gain employment doing whatever kind of job it takes in order to support her family, is not only not allowed to be considered for the immigration process but also who gets her documents taken away and questioned when she visits. Ok so that’s enough of the third person perspective! 
The current immigration system is turning us all into liars. If you are in a same sex relationship then you have to deny that at the border because you have no legal right to be in that relationship and are automatically an overstay risk.  After 6 ½ months of not being in the country and having never overstayed a visa, I made another visit to see my wife and child. Homeland security took my documents and led me through to secondary questioning. After quite some time of answering their questions satisfactorily, they allowed me through border control.  Being selected by Homeland security was probably more due to being a single female traveler of a certain age than our situation, but it is because of that very situation that we have the additional stress and heighted nerves. It’s not just a trip that would be ruined, but the chance to be with the ones we love. These trips are often the result of months of planning and saving and the effect would be devastating were one of us denied entry. The knowledge that we are but moments and meters away from each other and it could all be thrown away without a second thought is terrifying and yet what genuine choice to we have.





So here I sit alone but not alone. Inger is always with me, not a day goes by where she isn't the last thing on my mind when I go to sleep and the first thing on my mind when I wake. She has given me so much and has taught me how to love and be loved. She has enabled me to deal with emotions and feelings that I never knew how to process so they just used to eat me up. The person that I am becoming since she has been in my life is actually someone for the first time ever, that I can say I'm starting to like. I used to focus so heavily on the negative, now I try and see the positive in everything. For as bad as everyday life is without her, I still would take this over her not coming into my life at all. 


 
Just over 2 years ago I watched my Dad and Mum look at each for the very last time before she slipped away from this life. I saw something that moved me so deeply....I saw the enormity of the love that created me and my brothers and felt so blessed to share that moment. In that moment everything in our lives changed but I promised myself that I would never settle for something less, I wanted what I saw in my Mum and Dad that day. A few months later as a promise to my Mum, I flew to America to meet Inger and thank her for helping me through Mum's illness. The first time I looked into her eyes, I saw forever, I didn't tell her, I wanted to be sure that my head was in a better place before expressing my feelings. I waited, went back 2 months later for Inger's birthday. We admitted our feelings and bought rings, not commitment in the traditional sense, but a ring for a promise to see where this journey would take us.

I have no regrets at all. She is the best thing that's ever happened, she is the reason why I get up every morning and strive to be a better person. She is the reason why I won't stop fighting and trying to find ways to put this family back together. I hate that I have a kid that's growing up with a part time parent, I hate that Inger doesn't have me there supporting her with our girl when she's hitting such a difficult age. Imagine being 10 years old and already having an understanding of gay rights, immigration and proposals like the UAFA. Don't get me wrong I think that it's great for kids to be politically aware, but this isn't the way in which they should learn.

I'm done for now but there will be more, I just needed to get that out of my system. Again thank you so much to everybody we can't do this without you

Will the New Congress Listen to Us? Let's Make Ourselves Heard!!

As I watched the 112th Congress getting ready to get going today and I listened to the New House Speaker John Boehner tell their goals, I could not help but think that a lot of people are saying that our hopes for getting Uniting American Families Act passed are now in jeopardy.  I refuse to be defeated by what other people are predicting.  I will work harder, I will call more people, I will fax and use Face Book and Twitter to get our message to Congress.  As Bi-national couples, we all need to speak out for what is right....what is right is allowing our families to be able to be together legally, safely and without fear.  Congress will hear from me and I hope that Congress will also hear from you. 

We can take a lesson from the Dreamers.  They banded together, they became organized, they protested and spoke out.  They were able to gain national attention with their efforts and with the help they received from a couple of the Congress members.  We must do the same.  We must band together as the American half of our bi-national relationship.  We must stand up, stand strong, speak out and be heard.  We need to make ourselves known so that they can no longer brush us aside as inconsequential.

We are in love with someone who is not an American.  This is not a crime.  We are in love with someone who is of the same sex.  This is not a crime.  (although some would want it to be)  We want to live in peace and safety with our families.  This is not a crime.  We are doing nothing wrong, we do not deserve to be treated as outcasts or people without rights.  We deserve to be treated as the proud American citizens that we are.

It is cruel, rude and unacceptable for the people of Congress to ignore us any longer.  We will make it so they cannot.  We need to reach out to Congress and let them know that we are alive, well and quite angry with the treatment that Bi-national same sex couples have received thus far.  We deserve the same rights as our heterosexual counterparts and will except nothing less.  We are Americans.  We are productive members of society.  We are voters.

1.  Find out who your Congress Members are and call, write, email, fax, text and twitter them every day.

2.  Tell your story to anyone who will listen.  Newspapers, TV stations....anyone, we need to get the word out.

We have been separated, "illegal", thrown out, tossed aside, ignored and hated for long enough.  We will be heard.  2011 is our year.  Let's repeal DOMA ... Let's get the Uniting American Families Act passed.  We must.....our families, our happiness, our lives depend on it.

Scalia says that the Constitution Does not Protect Women or Gays

In an interview with California Lawyer commemorating his 24th anniversary on the U.S. Supreme Court, Justice Antonin Scalia said this:
Q: In 1868, when the 39th Congress was debating and ultimately proposing the 14th Amendment, I don’t think anybody would have thought that equal protection applied to sex discrimination, or certainly not to sexual orientation. So does that mean that we’ve gone off in error by applying the 14th Amendment to both?
A: Yes, yes. Sorry, to tell you that. … But, you know, if indeed the current society has come to different views, that’s fine. You do not need the Constitution to reflect the wishes of the current society. Certainly the Constitution does not require discrimination on the basis of sex. The only issue is whether it prohibits it. It doesn’t. Nobody ever thought that that’s what it meant. Nobody ever voted for that. If the current society wants to outlaw discrimination by sex, hey we have things called legislatures, and they enact things called laws. You don’t need a constitution to keep things up-to-date. All you need is a legislature and a ballot box. You don’t like the death penalty anymore, that’s fine. You want a right to abortion? There’s nothing in the Constitution about that. But that doesn’t mean you cannot prohibit it. Persuade your fellow citizens it’s a good idea and pass a law. That’s what democracy is all about. It’s not about nine superannuated judges who have been there too long, imposing these demands on society.

That he doesn’t think gay people have a Constitutional right to not be discriminated against isn’t surprising. But women?
Said Marcia Greenberger, co-president of the National Women’s Law Center, to the Huffington Post:
“In these comments, Justice Scalia says if Congress wants to protect laws that prohibit sex discrimination, that’s up to them,” she said. “But what if they want to pass laws that discriminate? Then he says that there’s nothing the court will do to protect women from government-sanctioned discrimination against them. And that’s a pretty shocking position to take in 2011. It’s especially shocking in light of the decades of precedents and the numbers of justices who have agreed that there is protection in the 14th Amendment against sex discrimination, and struck down many, many laws in many, many areas on the basis of that protection.”
As a refresher, this is what the 14th Amendment actually says:
Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Section 2. Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.
Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
Section 5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

Does God REALLY Hate Homosexuals?

I have seen websites dedicated to saying that God hates homosexuals.  I have seen websites that promotes the killing of homosexuals.  I have seen a lot of people spewing Bible verses that really have no clue as to what those Bible verses are talking about.  All people know is what they have been told.  I believe that very few of them have ever researched the subject on their own. 

The truth from the Word of God is this:  "For God so loved the World, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

They quote from Leviticus about how a person lying with a person of the same sex should be put to death.  The book of Leviticus also says not to work on Sundays that when you have a black hair coming out of a wart, you are very ill and should live outside of the city.  All of the scriptures that have to do with homosexuality, also have to do with why...most of the timeit was  idol worship as in Romans and Leviticus.

What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah?  I can say honestly, it was not homosexuality.  If it was homosexuals....from where did the children come.  That story says that every man, young and old came to Lot's home.  So why did Lot offer his daughters to these gay men.  The answer is this:  They were not homosexual.  The men were going to punish these Angels because they thought they were spies.  This was a traditional and common punishment....if a man were treated like a woman, it was a horrific thing.

David Letterman does a top 10 list on his show.  God also has a top 10 list.  It is called the 10 commandments and guess what?  Homosexuality did not even make that list.  How many times did Jesus talk about homosexuality here on this earth?  Not even once.  The truth of the matter is this:  God never condemns a monogamous same sex relationship.

What does God say, "God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

Oh and for those who still believe that homosexuality is an abomination, God puts lying on the same level as an abomination along with witchcraft, sex before marriage, fearful and unbelieving.  So please do your own learning and research and learn that God is good and people are judgmental.  Unfortunately, the judgments are not educated or fully explored.  God does not hate Homosexuals.

Not more than 150 years ago, we were putting people to death due to witch craft.  We were putting people to death because of the color of their skin.  As little as 70 years ago people were being put to death because they were Jews.  As a society, we are fearful of those who are different.  We tend to think that we are the ones who are in the right and if someone has different beliefs, well they are wrong and God must hate them.  How many have been killed unjustly?  Well, truth be told, it is in the millions and only God knows the actual number. 

When we stand at the judgment seat of Christ and He asks what we did with our lives, what we did with the great commission, some will say that they condemned homosexuals to death....and God will say, did you tell them about the Son of God....and you will say, no I told them they were going to hell....and God will say, but did you tell them of the love of God and that he died on the cross for everyone's sins.  What will you say? 

God does not hate homosexuals.

Exactly What Are They Calling Family Values???




The other day, I watched a video of little American children saying how that they believe that God hates America.  I watched a video of people protesting at the funerals of men and women who gave their lives for our country.  I saw these people stomping on the American Flag.  These people are supposedly Christian people.  I wonder if they will teach those children that the only reason that they are not arrested and tried for treason for stomping on our Flag is because of the Men and Women who have sacrificed so much to serve this country to give them the freedom of expression.

  While they are busy teaching hate and disrespect the homosexual people worked hard to get Don't Ask, Don't Tell repealed so that they could serve their country.

The divorce rate in America for first marriage, vs second or third marriage
50% percent of first marriages, 67% of second and 74% of third marriages end in divorce, according to Jennifer Baker of the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri.
According to enrichment journal on the divorce rate in America:
The divorce rate in America for first marriage is 41%
The divorce rate in America for second marriage is 60%
The divorce rate in America for third marriage is 73%

However, while heterosexual couples are getting divorced,  homosexuals are fighting to get the Defense of Marriage Act repealed.  Why?  So we can get married.

We are for peace.  We just want to be able to live our lives without the restrictions that are currently upon us.  


More hurt, hate, killings, torture and horrendous acts of humans against humans has been done in the name of God.  The Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, the Terrorist Bombing of the Twin Towers are just a few examples.  Churches today are teaching that God hates homosexuality.  This is absolutely not Biblical.   I was told that the "sin" of homosexuality is one of the worse sins ever.  It is an abomination.  Well, it didn't even make God's top ten in the Ten Commandments.  As a matter of fact, for all of the Bible Scholars, whenever homosexuality is mentioned in the Bible, it is always in context with idol worship.  In truth, the Bible, God's Word never condemns a monogamous same sex relationship.

Instead of teaching hate, let's verify our facts and teach that God is Love.
